History Built in 1920, Klinger Lake Country Club
has a rich golf history. The golf course began as a
nine-hole layout and the back nine was added ten years
later. Golf legend Chick Evans established the first
course record of 73 in 1921. During the 1940's, touring
professionals, Ben Hogan, Jimmy Demaret, Louise Suggs
and Byron Nelson all played here. Former KLCC Golf Professional
Norm Collins holds the current course record of 63.
Golf A challenging par 72, 18 hole golf course,
which plays 6,100 yards from the men's tee and 5,300
yards from the ladies' tee. This may not appear too
long, but don't be fooled… Klinger Lake is a very challenging
course to play! The condition is always top notch, which
contributes to quick greens. The course is truly a pleasure
to play. KLCC also offers a driving range and practice
area along with a full service Pro Shop including lessons
with our PGA Golf Professional.
Statistics A typical course (public or private)
will play 22,000 to 40,000 rounds a year. However, KLCC
plays about 9,000 rounds per year, which is very low
for an 18-hole facility. This means that it is very
easy to get on the course. Tee times are accepted up
to 1 week in advance but reservations are rarely necessary.
The PGA Professional and his staff conduct an extensive
tournament schedule for members, with over 30 events
to participate in.
Special Groups We have golf events for the whole
